It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a film at the cinema that’s really held my attention. With most films I see, half way through my mind normally wanders briefly to thinking about what time it is, whether I locked the car door or how my left arse cheek is going slowly numb.
Not this time. Lucky Number Slevin has a plot. I won’t give anything away, but it’s quite a complicated plot. After the first 30-45 minutes, you’ll probably be thinking… WTF is going on?! You just don’t really have that much time to think about either arse cheek.
Don’t panic though – concentrate and everything becomes clear. Saying that, I’d actually quite like to watch it again just to see if I missed anything.
If I’m honest, Morgan Freeman is one of my favourite actors and this is one of my favourite ‘genre’ of films. So perhaps I’m biased as this was right up my street from the opening credits.
Definitely watch it… just try not to concentrate on Lucy Liu’s wonky eye too much!
9.5/10.
[…] I was looking at the imdb earlier. Apparently, if you liked Lucky Number Slevin, you’ll like Smokin’ Aces. Hmmm. […]
