Zodiac

Zodiac

I was going to write a bit about my recent holiday to sunny Spain.  But… someone can’t find the cable to get any photos off their digital camera (hmmph), so it’ll have to wait for a bit.

Instead… I saw the film Zodiac yesterday, was it any good?

Well, yes and no.  Let’s look at the evidence…

Good

The whole film is based on the hunt for an American serial killer in 60′s & 70′s.  It follows the police investigation, how the media presented the case and how the murders became a huge part of certain lives.

ZodiacThe bulk of the movie covers ten years or so, it’s always interesting and occassionally has a bit of suspense thrown in too.  It’s even got some mildly amusing bits.  You also can’t fault the settings which all looked pretty damn convincing.

Bad

Well yes it’s always interesting, but it does also feel like a long film.

It might be worth mentioning at this point that I’d never heard of the Zodiac killings until this movie came out.  If I had, perhaps I wouldn’t have left the cinema slightly disappointed that there were still some unanswered questions after the credits rolled.

The worst part of the whole thing though was the chav-tastic girl sitting behind us who talked drivel all the way through the film. Grrr!

I even did my best Seinfeld impression:

…but alas, it didn’t help. Bah.

7/10.
