Oooh looky, it’s another Blogalism birthday! After two years, you would have thought I’d have slipped into more of a regular blogging habit, wouldn’t ya.
Actually someone asked me the other week “Why do you have a blog?”.
I scratched my head, gave some vague and fuzzy answer and quickly changed the subject. When I got home that evening, I thought about the question some more. Then a bit more.
After all that thinking, all I could come up with was that I have absolutely no idea.
I mean, I must’ve had a reason to start in the first place? What the fook was it? I honestly don’t remember now. All I can say is that for some inexplicable reason I quite enjoy having my own little group of pixels to look after. It’s most odd.
Perhaps by this time next year I’ll have a better answer to that question… or maybe not.
Reading this got me thinking about why I blog and to be honest the best answer I can come up with is “because I enjoy it”. I know that no more than four people ever read the thing, I know that most of what I write is complete rubbish that no one but me cares about and I know that if I stopped no one would give a crap. But it makes me feel better to get my thoughts and feelings out there rather than just keeping them in my head. And when people do reply to my posts it makes me feel good.
Personally I think that is more than enough reasons to do it.

Yeah ok but you have me and I’m worth a million readers…plus you occasionally get comments from people you don’t know, that never happens to me.
Yeah occassionally I get a few random commenters. The Vermatik thing and the fake pound coin ones picked up a couple. I think it helped when I changed the WordPress setting to allow anyone to comment, rather than requiring people to register first. Someone random did wish me a happy birthday too, which was nice.
