Everything about the can is part of the overall design. Guys may lik their gadgets and gizmos but that can still be kept in the design as well as solve the usability issues tht have been described above.

In the years since this can's release to the shelves these issues don't seem to have been fully addressed. The twisting of the can is still fiddly and risks the contents catching on the rim and dribbling down the side along with the awkwardness described above relating to the button.

To say that the original poster has no idea of design is a poor argument as its people like him/her, you and me that ultimately decide the success of such products through purchasing them. The problems they described are problems because of its design. Allowances can be made in its design to keep the gadgetry feel as well as save on material usage and resources.

So you think a *good* design is one that makes the contents dribble down the side of the product?

After two years, I would very much hope they've remedied that problem by now.

The writer of this post ovbiously knows nothing about the design though. If you read about it, it says how guy like their gadgets and its based on a gadget. I guess this is jstu his option, but in a design thought, he knows nothing

I disagree.
I think it is a good design.
But i do think that the old classic pull off lid is so much easier.
I bought my dad a can and he pulled th twister off cuz he thort it was a lid.

Someone mentioned the new can actually contains less aswell - but I haven't got an old can to verify that.

Yeah I agree, when it's dark first thing in the morning you have no idea which direction the nozzle is facing. Seems like Unilever are sticking with it though for some odd reason. Bizarre.
