The first lightning of the year! Hooray!
A little bit far away for my liking, but that’s the problem when you’ve only got petrol fumes in yer tank. On the plus side though, much less chance of getting fried and drenched. Which was nice.

Wow – those pics are cool. How many were deleted to leave you with those great ones… or do you have a sixth sense on when to press the button?
Thanks! Possibly not as bad as you’d think actually. 88 taken that night, with about 7 with lightning on to some degree. Probably another 3 or 4 with sheet lightning on which weren’t that interesting to look at. Although there were bloomin’ hundreds I didn’t save…
Y’see, I’ve got a point and shoot camera with no manual settings. So, putting it into ‘night mode’ with the flash off holds the shutter open for a couple of seconds and then the ‘final 2′ continuous shooting mode repeatedly takes pictures but only saves the last two photos you choose. That tends to eat through the batteries though, but otherwise seems to work quite well to keep the amount of stored pictures taken down. Really should invest in a proper camera one day!
Anyway… more luck & patience than any smidgen of skill. Still quite pleased though. :-)
