Flash Game: The Touch Type Tester

Posted in General

I’ve been trying to learn a bit of Actionscript / Flash over the last few weeks.  It’s still early days, but I think I’m slowly picking it up.  I kinda bodged my way through The Ricky Gervais Stress Reliever tm the other week, so I thought it was time to have a crack at something a bit different.

On Sunday, I set myself a little challenge:
Produce a very simple Flash game in under two hours.

So with nothing else remotely of interest to post at the moment, here’s the result for all to sneer at and mock: The Touch Type Tester.

Be warned though: For the above reason, the following game isn’t pretty. It’s also a bit crap, so you have been warned…

It’s more of a test of reactions really. When you see a falling letter bubble, just hit the corressponding key on your keyboard.  It can’t get much simpler than that, surely?

At least it’s one way to brush up on the old touch typing skills…

Hey cool game, even if I am really crap at it. I can actually touch type…in fact I am doing it right now, closeing mu eues and er well ok so I mess up on y’s but otherwise I am ok at it. However for some reason I found myself constantly looking at the keyboard when playing this game and as such did really badly. I will have to give it another try later.

I will say it is rather tense, I got rather into it as the letters started speeding up. Keep at it bud. Hows the ghost thing coming?

Cheers dude. My highest is 86, so there’s something to aim for if you do play again.

Haven’t done anything on the ghost thing since you saw the last update. :-(
