I’ve finally signed up to 43 Things.
I was going to have a crack at this last January, but I never got around to it (probably because I forgot to put it on my to-do list).
Anyway, with the new year just starting and my mid-life crisis in full swing I’ve set about making a big ole list of 43 things that I want to do before I’m 43.
Don’t worry, I’m not planning on turning all Earl Hickey, I’m just trying to think of achievable stuff, that at the same time isn’t too easy (and hopefully isn’t too shallow). Sounds quite simple, doesn’t it?
Hmmm. Well after filling in a bunch of fairly obvious stuff that most people probably want to do… I’ve come to a bit of a full stop.
So whilst I’m waiting for inspiration to hit me, what sort of stuff would be on your list?

Hmmm, not too sure about this to be honest. I am not really one of these people who has goals.
That said I would like to get a book published and would be nice to have my own house. Er other than that I can’t really think of anything.
You haven’t put “Get a job I actually enjoy” down, that has got to be a popular one. I also take it you are not too interested in the Big M word…nah me neither.
Good luck with the list. If you need help with any of them just yell.
Well… if you’ve got any DVD’s on the IMDB 250 list that’d be a help!
I reckon I’ve seen about 54 of them already. Some I can barely remember though, so I’m not sure if I could honestly count them now. If I chose to watch those forgotten ones again, it would of course mean sitting through The Big Lebowski for a second time – which is quite a high price to pay. I can’t believe that’s a top 250 film.
Anyway, I’m not really a list person either, but might aswell give it a shot. At the rate I’m going, I’ll be pushing up daisies soon so I need to do something!
Job-wise, I was going to put something like that and then I thought… does anyone really enjoy their job?
(…and unless the “Big M” stands for “Big Mammaries”, then no)
I am somewhat suprised you haven’t filled the rest of your list with the names of hot women? Surely you can think of a few you would like to do before you are 43!?!?!
Haha!
Perhaps I could also just fill the rest with “have a foursome”, “have a fivesome”, “have a sixsome” etc etc etc.
I thought of a serious one. You mentioned a while back maybe trying to learn chinese, well you could put “learn a new language” on the list. Hey if you word it that way a new programming language would count.
Good thinking… have added it onto the list!
Yeah, I’d like to learn a bit of Japanese – which is related to something else already on the list. Programming language wise, Silverlight looks like it might be worth keeping an eye on (looks like it’ll be a VB based rival to Flash).
Talking of Flash… Adobe were showing off this demo a few months back. Quite impressive that Flash might have that sort of power in later versions (yes that really is running in Flash).
[...] of the way. And on the upside, at least I’ve managed to cross one “thing” off my 43 Things [...]
