The Incredible Hulk

Posted in Films

The trailer for The Incredible Hulk looked crap, so I’ll have to admit that I wasn’t expecting much before the film started.

And, you know what?  We didn’t get much either.  So at least it lived up to expectations.

The Incredible Hulk

Ok, maybe that’s a tad unfair.  To be a bit more specific - we didn’t get anything new.

To it’s credit, it all looked better than I thought it would, but that doesn’t really make it a good film.  Ed Norton was ok.  Liv Tyler was ok.  The CGI was, err, better than Hulk.  But that’s it.

The trouble is, it’s all just very formulaic comic book stuff.  You know: Good person gets super-power.  Encounters bad person with similarly matched super-power.  Standard good vs bad final showdown.  If you’ve seen Spiderman or more recently Iron Man, you’ll already know exactly what happens.  Especially since they’ve pretty much just recycled Iron Man’s ending (well it has been about 4 weeks since that was released, so there was a slim chance we’d all forgotten).

There’s only going to be so many times that Marvel can pump out the same plot before non-comic book lovers get bored, so hopefully they come up with something new next time.  Yeah, right-o…

5/10.

So what’s the tackiest, most laughable, lowest budget ad on telly at the moment?

My vote goes for this one…
