The sort of name…

I’d forgotten about this old episode of Game On.

Matt and Martin discuss The Great Escape and great character names…

Ho-hum!

Jumper

Jumper

When David Rice falls through some ice on a frozen river and almost drowns, he suddenly finds that he’s got an amazing ability to teleport himself out of dangerous situations. After getting to grips with and polishing his new found power, he soon starts robbing banks and leading a life of luxury. Bizarre really - any normal guy would’ve just teleported straight into the Playboy mansion, but Jumper just isn’t that kinda film.

Anyway, all is hunky dory until the Paladins turn up - a thousand year old organisation who are trying to kill the world’s population of Jumpers. Why? Because “only God should have this power”. You know, thou shalt not teleport - quite a well rounded case for genocide really.

…and that’s about as complicated as it gets. Cue 90 minutes of CGI, world sightseeing, wooden acting from Hayden Christensen and a, errr, snatch, of Rachel Bilson eye-candy. Good mornin’.

6.5/10

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Posted in Films

National Treasure: Book of SecretsA few years ago, I remember watching the first National Treasure film and being reasonably entertained. Indiana Jones it wasn’t, but still an enjoyable little caper.

Book of Secrets on the other hand just seems to suck. Stupid plot, stupid situations and even stupider escapes from them. It picked up towards the end once most of the totally ridiculous stuff involving pooters was out of the way, but by then I was waaay past caring.

4/10.

Oooooh yes. Now we’re talking.

Looks like huge amounts of CGI, but ah well… still can’t wait!

Where’s Wally 2: Video Edition!

Posted in General

I hate having my picture taken. Whenever I see a camera, I stealthily try and blend into the background - chameleon style.

You can probably imagine then how it came as a bit of surprise when I realised that I’d been papped and overnight had sensationally become “The Face of E-commerce Expo”.  True it might be a pretty geeky face, but that’s not the point.

Not content with using me in a starring role on their website (without paying me I might add), it seems that the E-commerce Expo folks have also decided to immortalise me on film too.  Let the royalty cheques commence…

So can you spot me (again)?
