Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Posted in Films

(At least that what I think it’s called - kinda lost track now)

Harry Potter - HPATOOTP

Errr, well yeah I saw HPATOOTP the other week and I’ll have to say I was mildly disappointed with it.  It seemed to take ages and ages to get going and the finale just fizzled out with yet another confusing wand waving session.

For some reason I think I must’ve missed the installment where Harry’s cousin Dudley turned into a Michael Carroll wannabe. Most odd. And, am I really the only one who thought Hagrid’s brother Grawp looked like Lee Evans?

6/10.

(Off to see Transformers tomorrow… woo! Now where did I put those cheese and dung pictures that I used last time?)

I’ve Been Simpsonized!

Posted in Funnies

Simpsonized 2Ever wondered what you’d look like as a Simpsons character?  Errr, no, neither had I until now.  But in a similar face recognition type thing to MyHeritage, SimpsonizeMe can answer the question you didn’t know you wanted the answer to.

I’m probably the last person in the world to have a go on this, but it is good fun.  If you haven’t used it, simply upload a clear headshot of yourself, answer a few quick questions and kerblammo you’re done.

Actually it’s quite slow and you get the odd error or six, and IE seems to work better than Firefox, but it’s still worth a go.

Here are the results of a couple of pictures I tried:

What do you reckon?  Does that look like me in a Simpsons stylee? Let me know how yours turns out too.

(Props to Al for sending me the link to that)

Die Hard 4.0

Bruce Willis looking like a tortoise

Is it just my imagination or is Bruce Willis starting to look more and more like a tortoise these days?

Anyhoo, I saw Die Hard 4.0 the other day and I’ll have to say - I rather enjoyed it.  It was easily the best action film I’ve seen for a long while.

It did make me wonder though how they teach students on computer science courses in California.  I mean, Hollywood computer geeks just seem to be in a totally different class to the rest us.  I can only imagine that their weekly lesson plan goes a little like this:

Monday: Winzip for Beginners.
Tuesday: PC maintenance - mouse ball cleaning.
Wednesday: P.E.
Thursday: Introduction to F-35 missile firing codes.
Friday: Using DOS to shut down a national power station.

All I learnt at college was how to make a birthday reminder program using COBOL and how to market a new perfume called “Lleb D’nế”.  Tcha.  I mean, how is that going to help me in my evil World domination master plan?

8/10

Rock the Kasbah!

Posted in General

Previously, on Blogalism…

After escaping from the clutches of a deadly desperate desperado, things went from bad to Morocco Camelworse when I was attacked by a very vicious vulture.  Fortunately, I managed to annihilate it with my last remaining bullet and the “pinky finger of death move” that I’d learnt from an old Chinese ninja-master.

But my joy with short lived.  I’d found myself standing on the edge of an enormous cliff.  At the bottom of this huge precipice was a seething sea of snakes.  Just my luck, as only the day before I’d traded my last drop of snake-bite medicine for a stash of steamy Spanish grot mags. Typical.

As I turned around, 300 barbaric bloodthirsty bandido’s had lined up, weapons raised, all err, barbarically baying for blood.

There was only one way out of this dire situation.  I quickly popped on my patented rocket powered Y-fronts and flew myself the hell out of there.  From my high vantage point, I could see a ferry bound for Morocco in the distance, so I aimed my jet pants towards it and made my getaway…

And now, in the Blogalism season finale, the story continues…
